Manipur: Investigation begins into Moreh killings

Imphal, Jun 23: Additional district magistrate, Moreh, Chandel district, TH Chote has started investigation into the killings of 11 persons in Moreh on June 9 last.

Mr Chote in a notification has asked witnesses to submit evidences related to Moreh massacre before July 7.

The terms of reference of the inquiry instituted by the Manipur Government by an order on June 12 include ascertaining the cases of the incidents and to fix responsibility and to suggest remedial measures to prevent recurrence of killings in future.

The inquiry would be conducted at the court room of the Additional District Magistrate, Moreh.

The killings had sparked off a major crisis in the state as two militant groups were involved in the clashes.
