Investigating team conducts in camera inquiry
Tiruchirapalli, Tamil Nadu, June 23 (UNI) The three-member team, probing the alleged caesarean section performed by a 15-year-old boy on a woman at a private hospital in Manapparai, today continued with the incamera inquiry at the hospital.
Official sources told UNI here that the investigating team, led by Tiruchirapalli Revenue Divisional Officer (RDO) S Ramanidharan conducted a final round of exhaustive inquiry with Dr V Murugesan, a surgeon and Mrs Gandhimathy Murugesan, a gynaecologist, the parents of M Dhileepan Raj, who allegedly performed the caesarean.
The team also met the staff members of Mathi Surgical and Maternity Hospital, where the caesarean was performed, members of Indian Medical Association (IMA) Manapparai Branch, Mrs G Neela(23), the woman who had undergone the caesarean.
Meanwhile, the woman Neela and her baby boy underwent a thorough medical check up at a Government Hospital in Viralimalai as per the orders of the investigating team.
District Collector Ashish Vachchani told UNI that after getting a detailed report from the investigating team, expected in a couple of days, the district administration would consult legal experts for taking suitable action against the erred doctor couple, if the whole episode was found to be true.
Asked whether he would forward the report to the Tamil Nadu government, he said the district administration would first examine the report before taking any other steps.
To a query, he said the district administration had so far not received any communication from the Centre on the issue.
