Dutch govt extends overseas military missions
AMSTERDAM, June 22 (Reuters) The Dutch government today decided to extend the Netherlands' military involvement in the UN peacekeeping mission in Lebanon, UNIFIL, by six months until the end of January 2008, it said in a statement.
The government also extended the Dutch contribution to a NATO training mission in Iraq for Iraqi security officers to mid February 2008, as well as to a European Union force in Bosnia until June 2008.
The Dutch are expected to decide in August whether to extend beyond August 2008 their military mission in Afghanistan where they have about 2,000 troops.
