Death toll 32 in AP, flights re-scheduled
Hyderabad, June 23 (UNI) The death toll in rain-related incidents in Andhra Pradesh had gone up to 32 from 28 even as some flights were cancelled following heavy rainfall in coastal parts of the state.
A report from Vishakapatnam said two Indian and Air Sahara flights each were cancelled due to bad weather. Only three private airline flights landed in the airport.
Speaking to newsmen here, State Vidya Vidhana and Hospital Services Minister V Venkateswara Rao said all hospitals were alerted and directions issued to district medical officers to ensure adequate stocks of medicine in all hospitals for the benefit of the victims.
The government hospitals have swung into action to prevent outbreak of epidemics in the flood-affected districts.
