Copper declines on increased offers by stockists

Mumbai, June 23 (UNI) A mixed trend was observed in metal prices today, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange said.

In the ferrous section, copper heavy and copper utensils declined by Rs 200 each per quintal on increased offers by stockists while brass utensils rose by Rs 300 per quintal on increase of fresh demand.

In the non-ferrous category, copper wire bars and zinc slab eased by Rs 200 and Rs 100 per quintal respectively on thin buying support while lead ingots hiked by Rs 100 per quintal on good demand, Tin slab went up by Rs four per kg on leser stock supply.

Following are the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy - Rs 34,800, Copper utensils - Rs 30,900, Brass utensils - Rs 25,300, Brass cuttings - Rs 27,000 and Aluminium utensils - Rs 11,300.

Non-ferrous metals: Copper wire bars - Rs 38,200, Aluminium ingots - Rs 13,500, Zinc slabs - Rs 19,000, Lead ingots - Rs 10,200, Tin slab - Rs 708 (per kg) and Nickel cathode - Rs 1,775 (per kg).
