Case registered on Tihar death after magisterial enquiry

New Delhi, Jun 23 (UNI) A case was today registered at Hari Nagar police station in West Delhi in connection with the death of a Tihar inmate early this month, caused due to 'physical injuries'.

The case pertaining to Harish Kumar, who died on June 9 at the Deendayal Hospital while under detention under Section 107 and 151 Cr PC at Tihar Jail, was registered against 'unknown persons' under Section 304 for 'culpable homicide not amounting to murder', according to sources.

Registration of the case was done on the basis of the findings of a magisterial enquiry, ordered by the Delhi government after a series of deaths at the high security prison early this month.

The enquiry report said the death of Harish happened due to 'physical injuries'.
