AITC organises rally for President Kalam's second term

Kolkata, June 23 (UNI) All India Trinamool Congress(AITC) today organised a rally from the Birla Planetorium to Esplanade here in support of a second term for President A P J Abdul Kalam.

'' There is no alternative to Dr Kalam. For the sake of country's interest the students and the youth organisations should take more initiative to support a second term for Mr Kalam,'' AITC chief Mamata Banerjee told the rally.

''The party will organise another rally on June 25 and we are appealing to all the political parties to come out in support of a second term for Dr Kalam,'' Ms Banerjee said.

She also said that the President should be chosen by taking the public opinions.
