Western Command lifts Air Force Hockey trophy

Chandigarh, June 22 (UNI) The Western Air Command (WAC) lifted the Air Force Hockey trophy beating the defending champions Maintenance Command (MC) by 5-6 in a thrilling final here today.

The clincher went to sudden death after both the teams were tied at 1-1 in the main match and at 4-4 after the tie-breaker.

In the other match played today, the South Western Air Command (SWAC) beat Central Air Command (CAC) by 3-1 to come at the third and the fourth spot respectively.

For the fifth and the sixth position, Eastern Air Command (EAC) beat the Training Command (TC) by 3-2.

In the last match played between the Air HQ and Southern Air Command (SAC) teams, the seventh position was bagged by Air HQ team with SAC finishing last in the championship.
