A Nigam spokesman said in order to minimise breakdowns and interruptions in power supply, the load of 63 feeders of 11 KV level would be bifurcated or trifurcated during the year.
Besides, 55 feeders of 11 KV level had been added in the system.
In order to ensure better voltage and uninterrupted power supply to the consumers during peak load hours, he said, 8723 new distribution transformers would be added in the system and the existing transformers with small capacity would be replaced with the transformers of higher capacity.
He said the Rs 255 crore scheme had been introduced for giving adequate and quality power supply to domestic consumers in villages for lighting purpose.
Under the scheme, a loan of Rs 149.50 crore had been sanctioned by Rural Electrification Corporation (REC) for segregation of rural domestic load from agricultural load.
With the completion of these projects for strengthening power distribution system, the Nigam expected a considerable reduction in line losses and a safe power distribution system, he added.
