Mysore, June 22 (UNI) Three members of a family, including two women, were electrocuted at a farmhouse in Muniyappa Gowdar Doddi near Hanur in Chamarajanagara district.

The victims were identified as Rajini Mary (55), her daughter Sagaya Mary (28) and son-in-law Modale Muthu(30).

Police said that the incident came to light this morning when the milk vendor went to the house. The family, living in the farm house situated between Hanur and Gowdalli road, had tied a wire from their house to a electric transformer situated ten meters away from their dwelling, for drying the clothes.

After rain, Sagaya Mary, who went to pick up the clothes, came in contact with the live wire throwing her away to distance. Hearing screams, her mother Rajini rushed to daughter's rescue and met with the same fate. Mr Modale Muthu who had just arrived after attending prayer service in Gowdalli church, rushed to their rescue but he also met with the same fate.

Tension prevailed in the village for some time as the Electricity officials did not arrive after the incident was brought to their knowledge. The villagers resorted to road-roko, blocking the Hanur and Gowdalli road for sometime to show their anger.
