Shekhawat remains non-committal over his candidature

Jaipur, June 22 (UNI) Vice-President Bhairon Singh Shekhawat today opted to remain non-committal over prospects of his candidature in the July 19 Presidential polls.

Addressing MLAs from the ruling BJP, NDA allies and other Independents at his residence here, Mr Shekhawat said he was grateful to them for supporting him for Presidentship. However, at the moment he could not speak over the issue.

Later, the Vice-President also refused to speak to the media.

Mr Shekhawat arrived here this afternoon.

Prior to this, he performed puja at the Nathdwara Shrine and participated in a function in Khetawas in Pali district this morning.

Mr Shekhawat will return to New Delhi tonight.
