Shekhawat refused to comment on President Kalam's decision

Jaipur, Jun 22 (UNI) Vice President and the prospective NDA- supported Independent condidate for the July 19 election Bhairon Singh Shekhawat today refused to comment on President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam's decision of not seeking a second term.

Mr Shekhawat told reporters that that he would offer no comment over the issue.

The also declined to comment on reported allegations against UPA-Left combine nominee and former Rajasthan Governor Mrs Pratibha Patil.

Later the Vice President flew back to New Delhi after a day long visit to the state.

He arrived in the state capital this afternoon to a warm welcome.

As many as 117 MLAs from BJP, other NDA allies and Independents marched to his residence here to pledge their support for his candidature in the Presidential election.

Later he performed worship at the Govind Devji Temnple here this evening.

Prior to his arrival here, the vice president also prayers at famous Srinathji Shrine in Nathdwara and participated in a function in Pali district.
