Sharad for national-level solution to Nandigram issue

Saharsa, June 22 (UNI) JD(U) President Sharad Yadav today expressed concern over the vexed Singur and Nandigram issues and said he would strive for a broadly acceptable solution to the problem at the national level.

Talking to UNI here, Mr Yadav said he would take the initiative for a uniform and broadly acceptable solution to this burning issue, after the Presidential election next month. '' If a solution to this vexed issue was not found soon, interests of thousands of farmers would be at stake,'' he added.

Evading a direct reply over the stand of the party on supporting the incumbent President A P J Abdul Kalam, jhe said a final decision on this issue would be taken at a meeting of National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in New Delhi.
