Robbery case solved in 48 hours
Mumbai, Jun 22 (UNI) The city police today cracked a robbery case within 48 hours and also recovered cash and ornaments worth Rs 1.78 lakh from the accused.
Addressing mediapersons, DCP Zone IV Dattatray Karale said the complainant Hashumati Hiralal Dagga (47), a resident of Matunga, had stated that her house-maid Sunita Balram Ahirwar and her husband Balram Ahirwar threatened her with a knife after Hashumati's husband and daughter had left the house on June 18. The accused duo then tied her to the bed and decamped with cash worth Rs 2.2 lakh and 2 gold bangles.
The police cracked the case within two days and arrested the duo from Airoli in neighbouring Thane district and recovered cash and ornaments, totally worth Rs 1.78 lakh.
Karale informed that the duo was produced before the 45th Metropolitan Magistrate court, which remanded them to police custody till June 29.
