MPHC ruling on medical fees
Jabalpur, June 22 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh High Court has directed the state's private medical colleges to charge fees from students, for the 2007-08 session, after determination of the fees structure by a Judges Committee.
While hearing a petition by local medical student Shobhit Sonkar, who challenged the charging of fees even before the structure was determined, a bench comprising Chief Justice Anang Kumar Patnaik and Justice Ajit Singh delivered this ruling yesterday.
In the context of an ABVP plea, the court ruled that seats of private medical and dental colleges be allotted through centralised counselling. Advocate Samdarshi Tiwari represented the state government while Mr Sonkar was represented by Mr Pushpendra Kaurav.
