Mizo students slam govt for 'not knowing' boundary

Aizawl, June 22 (UNI) The Mizo Zirlai Pawl (Mizo students' association) today slammed the Mizoram government for ''not knowing the actual boundary between Mizoram and its neighbouring states or not having the guts to claim the true Mizoram territory''.

''We are really disheartened that the Mizoram government could not tell us which is the boundary between Asom and Mizoram since we clearly understand that the existing boundary is not the actual boundary,'' the MZP president said.

The MZP has been campaigning for redrawing of the Asom-Mizoram boundary line based on the Inner Line Regulation of 1875 and has created stirs at the border.

'' In our attempt to solve the long-standing border dispute, we drew the attention of the Home ministry, which had also suggested that talks between the Chief Ministers of the two states should be held to find permanent solution. But, till today no development has taken place,'' the student leader lamented.
