JK: Militants fire on army patrol, NCO wounded

Jammu, June 22: Some unidentified militants ambushed and fired upon an army patrol, wounding a Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO), at a forward Bahadur Post in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir late yesterday, official sources said today.

The NCO, identified as Lance Naik Chandra Bahadur Thapa of 2/3 Gorkha Regiment, was hospitalised immediately after the incident.

The army has launched a combing and search operation to track down the militants.

A few days ago, some militants had lobbed grenade at the spot that injured rifleman Rang Bahadur Gurung of the same regiment, sources said.
