MACTA calls off strike
Kochi, June 22 (UNI) The Malayalam Cine Technicians' Association (MACTA) today called off their three-day strike following discussions with the Kerala Film Producers' Association.
Speaking to reporters here, MACTA General Secretary Vinayan said the Producers' Association had accepted four of their eight demands including revoking ban on Director Sibi Malayil and increasing the allowance for light boys and drivers.
Mr Vinayan said the a seven-member joint committee of the MACTA and Producers' Association would be formed to sort out future problems in the film industry.
The Producers' Association had assured that they will consider the remaining demands in the near future, Mr Vinayan noted.
The production and post-production work of 14 films would commence from tomorrow, he added.
