Lion's health improving

Mumbai, Jun 22 (UNI) The health of 'Amar', an ailing male lion at the Veermata Jijabai Bhosale Udyan in Mumbai is improving, the zoo authorities said here today.

A release here said that the eight-year-old 'Amar' was suffering from Anorexia (off feed), kidney dysfunction and bronchopneumonia since the last one week.

The requisite treatment was immediately started by the Veterinarians of the Zoo in consultation with experts from the Bombay Veterinary college, Parel.

Dr R G Jani, co-orinator, Wildlife health care centre, western region, has also been consulted. He has examined the lion and suggested further line of treatment. 'Amar' has now gradually started taking food, the release added.
