Inquiry begins into Moreh killings

Imphal, June 22 (UNI) The Additional District Magistrate of Moreh in Chandel district, TH Chote has started inquiring into the Moreh killings on June 9 in which eleven persons were killed.

TH Chote in a notification had asked all to submit evidence related to the incidents before July 7.

The terms of reference of the inquiry instituted by a Government order on June 12, included ascertaining of the cases of the incidents, fixing responsibility and suggesting remedial measures to prevent recurrence of such incidents in the future.

The inquiry would be conducted at the court room of the Additional District Magistrate, Moreh.

The killings had sparked off a major crisis in the state as two militant groups were involved in the clashes.
