IAF nabs touts for duping aspirants

Shillong, June 22 (UNI) The Indian Air Force alongwith Asom police has apprehended a tout while trying to dupe an aspirant to join the elite Air Force at Jorhat in Asom.

The tout, identified himself Triloki Rai alias Rajkumar, was involved in swindling over Rs 34,001 - by selling fake character certificates, experience certificates and appointment letters.

Nitul Rajkhowa, a job seeking youth was fooled by the tout when he bought a copy of a fake appointment letter by paying Rs 38,001 as advanced payment. He was supposed to pay the remaining Rs 20,001 on the confirmation of the appointment as watchman in Air Force Station, Jorhat.

Meanwhile, an IAF statement urged the candidates to be cautious against such practices.

Moreover, it said the recruitment is totally based on the demonstrated performance of the aspirants to join the Defence Service.
