FSB receives info about murders of Russian diplomats
Moscow, June 22 (UNI) Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) head Gen Nikolai Patrushev today said special services has obtained preliminary information about the people involved in the kidnapping and murder of four Russian diplomats in Iraq and the possible location of their remains.
''We have received preliminary information about the people directly involved in the murder of Russian diplomats, as well as the possible location of their remains,'' Gen Patrushev told the Federation Council, the upper house of Parliament.
The security service had been working in collaboration with its foreign partners to attain the information regarding two persons involved in the crime, Patrushev said, referring to the four Russian diplomats who were kidnapped and later murdered by unidentified gunmen in Baghdad last July.
In the wake of killings, President Vladimir Putin ordered Russian National Anti-Terrorist Committee to coordinate the efforts of Russian special services to track down and eliminate the murderers in Iraq.
''This applies to finding and liquidating the terrorists involved in the abduction and murder of Russian diplomats in Iraq,'' Gen Patrushev, who also heads the Anti-Terrorist Committee, had said earlier.
