Four hardcore militants nabbed, arms, ammunitions recovered

Imphal, Jun 22 (UNI) Four hardcore militants of two outfits were arrested and arms and ammunition recovered during the past 24 hours in Manipur, Assam Rifles sources said here today.

Acting on a tip-off, troops of 44 AR under IGAR (S) launched a search operation at Tonglang yesterday and recovered some arms, including one M 16 Rifle with one magazine, carbine machine with one round, two hand grenades, two UBGL grenades, two 5.56 ammunition and three live rounds of 9 mm.

During the search operations, the troops came under fire from the militants and after a gun fight the militants escaped under cover of darkness.

In another incident, troops of 34 Assam Rifles arrested one KYKL cadre and one PREPAK cadre from Waithou, Thoubal.

In yet another incident, troops of 19 Assam Rifles arrested two PULF cadres from Kyamgei Mayai Leikai on , Imphal East.
