Former MLA sentenced to 10 years RI for abduction
Gaya, Jun 22 (UNI) Former legislator Rajendra Yadav was today sentenced to ten years rigorous imprisonment and slapped a fine of Rs 50,000 on charges of kidnapping two persons in 2005.
Pronouncing the judgement, fast track court Judge Vinay Kant Jha said in the case of non-payment of the fine, the convict would have to serve five more years in prison.
According to the case, Yadav was charged with kidnapping Lal Bahadur Yadav and Mithilesh Paswan from Sarina village under Nimchak police station area of the district during the state Assembly elections two years ago.
Later, the convict's lawyer said they would soon file an appeal in the Patna High Court against the judgement.
