'Farmers market' for 35 districts in UP

Moradabad, June 22 (UNI) The Uttar Pradesh government is set to open farmer's market worth Rs four crore in 35 districts.

According to sources, private sectors will give financial assistance to the markets, the administrative control of which will be done by the Farmers Technical Management Tribunal, headed by the respective District Magistrates. It will be an autonomous body.

Secretary of each mandi samiti will be a member of the tribunal, who would also issue license to each market.

Besides, they would be authorised to grant licenses to traders.

About Rs 200 crore would be spent through the Farmers Diversification Programme, with the contribution of same amount by the private sector.
