Cong gaining political mileage from rape, murder case, Solanki
Gandhinagar, June 22 (UNI) Youth president of Koli Samaj and Minister of State for Fisheries Purushottam Solanki has accused Congress of taking political mileage out of the incident of rape and murder of a Koli girl last month.
In a statement issued today, Mr Solanki said ''Congress is making a hue and cry over the rape and killing of Koli girl Chandani.
However, it is forgetting the fact that when it was in power there was a spate of incidents of rape, loot and murder perpetrated against the Koli community.'' ''Between 1991 and 1994 during the Congress reign, 2108 criminal incidents against the Koli community were committed in Bhavnagar district, 600 such incidents were committed in Surendranagar, 566 incidents in Junagadh, 374 incidents in Rajkot, Amereli, Porbandar, Kuchh and Jamnagar districts. However, there has not been a single arrest made,'' said Mr Solanki.
