Call rates opens at 0.25-0.50 per cent
Mumbai June 22 (UNI) Call rates opened easy at 0.25-0.50 per cent in a system flush with funds.
As most banks covered excess in the first week of the reporting period, fund requirements remain low. Also an absence of bond issue in this week led to easy liquidity, thereby aiding rates to trade easy near their 10-year low, dealers opined.
Inter-bank rates are likely to remain easy on the last day of reporting period while expectations of RBI's measure to soak up excess money from the money market may keep sentiment cautious, dealers added.
