Gwalior, June 22 (UNI) BJP MP Yashodhara Raje Scindia has strongly objected to the alleged presence of Madhya Pradesh Police Intelligence Branch officials at her local residence during a meeting with party workers.

''I was discussing Gwalior's development yesterday when the workers recognised the officials. I spoke in this regard to BJP President Rajnath Singh, senior leader L K Advani, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and DGP Anand Rao Pawar,'' the former state minister told UNI over telephone from Delhi.

Pointing out that such officials could visit public places, she added that their coming to her residence could not be described as proper. ''My family's prestige has been hurt,'' Ms Scindia said.

Police clarified here that their objective was not to spy on an MP and there was no directive of this nature from higher echelons.

However, the matter would be investigated.
