Anti-malaria camp organised in Mauli Jagran
Chandigarh, June 22 (UNI) An anti-malaria camp was organised in Mauli Jagran colony in Chandigarh union territory today as part of activities planned during the current month being observed as anti-malaria month.
Medical Superintendent, Dr Nitin of GMCH-32, inaugurated the camp.
In his inaugural address he emphasized the role of the people in the prevention and control of malaria, dengue and chikungunya.
He said that there is an urgent need to create awareness among the people for knowing the causes of the disease for its timely prevention and control.
The councilor of the area, senior citizens and private practitioners also attended the camp. A flag march-cum-procession was taken out on the occasion, which went through the lanes of the colony.
As many as 12 field survey and operatational teams were deputed in the colony for treatment of water collections. The fever survey teams screened the people and collected 205 blood samples which were examined on the spot.
