6000 appointments in NREGA in J'khand by August
Ranchi, Jun 23 (UNI) The Jharkhand government today said about 6000 youths would get employment in NREGA in the state by August next.
Chief Minister Madhu Koda today chaired a state council meeting of NREGA at the Project Building here where he instructed the officers concerned to expedite the matter in right earnest.
Mr Koda said about 6000 people would get employment under the scheme by August 15, adding local youth would get priority to get the job.
The Chief Minister expressed concern over slow progress of NREGA schemes in Saraikela-Kharsawan, Koderma, Jamtara, Sahebganj and Bokaro.
He asked the department to keep vigil on it and warned of taking action against erring officials.
Rural Development Minister Anosh Ekka, Chief Secretary A K Chug and other senior officials were present in the meeting.
