UP: 3 ultrasound units seized for sex determination

Lucknow, June 22: The ultrasound units of city's three big diagnostic centres were sealed for conducting illegal sex-determination test.

Sources told UNI today Neena Infertility centre, Yashdeep Ultrasound and Sarkar Diagnostic centre's ultrasound units were sealed after cancelling their license yesterday for illegal determination of sex and not having valid documents.

A team organised under the (Pre-natal Diagnostic) PNDT Act, which is applicable to ultrasound units, conducted a surveillance under which flaws were detected.

Sources said the inspection was conducted after receiving complaints against them.
