Woman smuggler nabbed with half kg opium

Moga, June 21 (UNI) Police arrested a woman after recovering half kg of opium from her possession near the local bus stand last evening.

Police sources said today that the interrogation of the arrested woman, Kartar Kaur of Chappianwali village of Muktsar district, revealed that she frequently visited Baghapurana area to supply opium to her customers and had been operating since long.

According to the sources, the Narcotic staff of the district police also arrested one Kartar Singh of the same Chhpianwali village and recovered half kg of contraband opium from him earlier.

Besides, the Narcotic Cell, on a tip off, rarided the house of one Balwinder Singh of Golia village and recovered 140 KG of poppy husk. Balwinder, who tried to sneak away, was overpowered and arrested by the police.
