Vijay Bhatia appointed SIT SP

Lucknow, June 21 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh government today appointed Vijay Bhatia as the Superintendent of Police (SP) of the newly-constituted Special Investigation Team (SIT).

Official sources said here Mr Bhatia had been posted in the 38th PAC Battalion, Aligarh and is the second Indian Police Service (IPS) officer given assignment in SIT.

Earlier, senior IPS officer S Balaji was made the SIT chief. A 1977 batch IAS officer, Mr Balaji is an ADG level officer.
