UPA failed to protect farmers' interests: BJP
Hyderabad, June 21 (UNI) Senior BJP Leader M Venkaiah Naidu today alleged the UPA Government at the Centre and the state government here failed to protect the farming community's interests.
Addressing the BJP office-bearers meeting here, Mr Naidu said the farmer was not getting renumerative price and the govenrment had neglected the agriculture sector.
The BJP would like to explain more on farming community at its National Executive to be held on June 25 and 26 at New Delhi.
He appealed to the state unit to adopt three-pronged strategy to strengthen the party. He also asked the cadre to take ideological issues to the people and strengthen the organisation at the grassroot level.
Mr Naidu made it clear that the GO 610 was a sensitive issue and the division of the state into Andhra and Telangana was the only solution.
The BJP was for smaller states not only for effective administration but also to dispel misbelief and misunderstandings between two regions and help in their development.
