Unclaimed box creates panic in Paschim Express
Ambala, June 21 (UNI) An unclaimed box in a compartment of the Paschim Express train on its journey from Kalka to Mumbai, created scare this afternoon.
On coming to know of the unclaimed box as the train reached Ambala Cantonment, passengers got panicky and started coming out and raised an alarm about a possible bomb in the hoax.
The GRP and RPF personnel on duty at the Ambala cantonment station got vacated the S-3 compartment where the box was found and conducted a thorough search.
The box was removed and preliminary inquiry revealed that it belonged to some military personnel as it contained the belongings including uniform and other articles.
The Army authorities on duty at the station were called to assist in the investigation.
In the process, the train was detained for sometime which left the station late by a few minutes.
The RPF authorities said that thorough investigation would be conducted since the Ambala Cantonment station was already under the threat by the militants and an alert had already been sounded for its protection.
