Two killed in accident in Una

Una, June 21 (UNI) Two people were killed and a child was seriously injured after their jeep fell into a gorge near Pir Nigaha village, about eight km from here today, police sources said.

The dead have been identified as Charan Das, 60, and Balbir Singh, 32, both residents of Bhagowal village in Nawansheher district of Punjab.

The sources said they were returning to their home after paying obeisance at the Pir Nigaha shrine when the accident occurred.

A child, identified as Pawan, has been referred to PGI Chandigarh who was seriously injured in the accident, the sources added.

Meanwhile, the dead body of a 20-month-old girl child, who was missing from the last few days from Bangana block, was recovered from a nullah here.

The body of the child, identified as Kiran, who was reportedly missing from the last four days, was recovered after her father Sunil Kumar noticed the body floating in a nearby nullah.

A case has been registered at the Bangana police station and investigations were on, the sources added.
