Two held for fake job promise

Ahmedabad, June 21 (UNI) Crime Branch sleuths of Anand town police today arrested two persons of a firm for allegedly cheating an advocate by promising him to get a job in an Australian milk dairy.

Police said Advocate Narendra Danji Kalal was lured by Sai Consultants of Anand in January this year by promising him a job in Australia. They also collected a sum of Rs 34,500 from him. He was made to appear for a bogus medical check-up by the firm's official Prakash alias Dinesh Narsi Parmar.

Parmar was arrested from his Gajanand flat at Ganesh chowkdi. A police team has also picked up another employee of the firm Nilesh Jagdishbhai Soni, who was close to Parmar, from his residence in Vadodara. He would be brought here tonight, said sources.

According to Mr Kalal's complaint, the firm had cheated about 200 persons so far on bogus job promises and collected Rs 34,500 from each.

Anand Police has registered a complaint under IPC sections 465, 467 and 468, sources added.
