Ten robbers held in Nashik
Nashik, June 21 (UNI) A gang of 10 robbers, wanted for various crimes, was arrested here today in a joint operation by the city police with the Thane Rural Police.
Acting on a tip-off that some members of the gang were hiding in Palse area of the city, the teams of city police and Thane Rural police raided the spot in the wee hours of today and arrested six persons, including a girl.
The arrested accused have been identified as Rohit Champu Pimple, Lalaji alias Dongarya Gujarathi, Pran Sanjay Pawar, Raj alias Ramrao Gaund, Rama alias Ramya Kale and Reena Pimple, police said.
Police also seized some expensive mobile handsets, Rs 12,000 cash, some ornaments and bank documents from them.
After sustained questioning, the arrested accused revealed that 4 members of the gang, belonging to Phase Phardhi community, had taken shelter at Pimple Sadan on Subhash Road at Gosaviwadi in Nashik Road area.
Then, the police teams raided the spot and apprehended Ravindra alias Ravya Kale, Pradeep Dayanand Kale, Santosh Govind Kale and Raghu Pimple. The teams also seized some cash, ornaments and documents from them, police said.
The city police team was led by Nashik Road police station Inspector Prakash Saindane and Crime Branch PI Sudam Walke, while Thane Rural police team was led by Crime Branch PI Nigar Pathan.
With the arrest of the gang members, several robbery cases in Maharashtra may be resolved, police added.
