Temperatures rise in HP
Shimla, June 21 (UNI) Maximum and minimum temperatures across Himachal Pradesh rose by a few degrees today despite experiencing moderate to heavy rains at isolated places in the state during the last 24 hrs.
The minimum temperature at Shimla, however, dropped by over a degree to stand at 14.8 degree as compared to 16 degree Celsius recorded yesterday after experiencing 14.2 mm over night rain.
The met office said the famous tourist resort of Kasuali was the wettest place in the state with 55.2 mm rain followed by 33.2 mm rain at Nahan in Sirmuar district The day temperature at the state capital rose to 23.5 degrees as compared to 22.1 degrees, while recording maximum temperatures of 33, 34 and 24.9 degree Celsius at Sundernagar, Bhuntar and Kalpa in Kinnuar district, it said.
Yesterday, Sundernagar, Bhuntar and Kalpa had recorded a high of 32.1, 33.3 and 22.1 degree Celsius.
The met office said the minimum temperatures at Sundernagar, Bhuntar and Kalpa also rose to 20.1, 19.2 and 10 degrees from yesterday's high of 17.6, 15 and 8.1 degree Celsius.
The night temperature of Una town also rose to 22.5 degrees in comparison to yesterday's low of 21 degrees.
Shimla town recorded light showers during the day, forcing people to scurry for cover from the rain, which cooled the town.
The met office has predicted rain or thundershowers at isolated places in the state during the next 24 hrs.
