Silver, Gold down on weak global advices
Mumbai, June 21 (UNI) Both the precious metals today registered a sharp fall on weak global advices with Silver sliding by Rs 160 per kg and Gold by Rs 100 per ten gm on the Bombay Bullion Association.
Silver fineness .999 opened low at Rs 18,285 on lack of demand.
Later, it eased further and closed at Rs 18,280 with a loss of Rs 160 from yesterday's close.
In London, Silver inched down at USD 13.14/13.17 per troy ounce against USD 13.32/13.35 per troy ounce in New York.
Standard gold (99.5) and pure gold (99.9) also opened downward at Rs 8,680 and Rs 8,730 per ten gm respectively on sluggish demand.
Later, standard gold and pure gold declined further and closed at Rs 8,660 and Rs 8,710 respectively, with standard gold losing ground by Rs 100 and pure gold by Rs 95 from its last close.
In London, gold was weak at USD 652.00/654.00 as compared to USD 659.50/661.00 per troy ounce in New York yesterday.
