MP: SECL officer held taking bribe

Jabalpur, June 21: The CBI officials caught an officer of the South Eastern Coalfields Limited at Korba while taking bribe of Rs 10,000 from a class four employee for his transfer.

CBI sources said SECL Central Store Depot's Senior Personnel Officer Amitabh Das was caught redhanded while taking bribe at his residence last evening from Pyarelal Gosavi.

The officer had earlier sought bribe of Rs 50,000 but agreed to take less amount as Gosavi expressed his inability to pay a huge amount for transfer to a place of his choice. On a tip-off, CBI officials from here laid the trap.

Meanwhile, the CBI also started investigations to assess the property amassed by Das.
