Private security agencies in Surat will be under police scanner
Surat, June 21 (UNI) The police here has decided to maintain a strict vigil on private security agencies, that have proliferated in the city, in the wake of the kidnapping of a 18-month child by a security guard here recently.
This was informed by city police commissioner R M S Brar here today.
Pranshu Shiroy, an 18-month-old boy, was kidnapped from the house of his grandparents on June 17 by the security guard employed by the housing society. However, the security agency, through which the guard was recruited, was unable to provide any details to the police as it had failed to maintain proper records.
Mr Brar said many of the security agencies that are operating in the city, have not registered themselves with the Labour Department and Shops and Establishment Department of Surat Municipal Corporation.
Meanwhile, the police said that investigations into the kidnapping case was progressing in the right direction but refused to divulge further information.
