PM urged to restore glory of Ambedkar memorial

New Delhi, June 21 (UNI) Delhi Assembly Speaker Prem Singh has urged Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to ensure the restoration of the pristine glory of the B R Ambedkar memorial on Alipur Road.

Bringing to his notice the dilapidated condition of the memorial dedicated to Baba Saheb, the Speaker, in a letter addresed to the Prime Minister, said his followers and admirers were pained after visiting the place for which they have great regard.

In his letter to Dr Singh, the Speaker also suggested that a stupa be constructed in the honour of Dr Ambedkar where all his belongings could be displayed in order to inspire people.
