Palestinian body calls to dissolve militia groups

RAMALLAH, West Bank, June 21 (Reuters) A governing body of the Palestine Liberation Organisation today called for ''dissolving all militias,'' including Hamas's Executive Force and Fatah's al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades.

The PLO central council's decision, in a meeting in the occupied West Bank, could satisfy a longstanding US and Israeli demand to disarm militants under a stalled peace ''road map.'' It was unclear how the decision would be implemented.
