Over 20,000 vacancies exist in govt educational institutes
Chandigarh, June 21 (UNI) A total of 20,648 vacancies exist in government non-technical educational institutes in Punjab, Education Minister Upinderjit Kaur told the state assembly here today.
Responding to question by Lal Singh (Cong) during Question Hour, the Minister informed the House that recruitment to the vacant posts shall be made on merit. She made it clear that the merit list would be prepared by adding the percentage of marks obtained in the basic premium prescribed aacdemuc qualifications and basic minimum prescribed professional qualification and higher qualification and experience.
In reply to another question by Makhan Singh (Cong), Transport Minister Mohan Lal informed the House that the total outstanding amount payable to the former members of the 12th (previous) state Vidhan Sabha on account of diesel/petrol and repair charges as on April four this yeat was Rs 11.40 lakh and Rs 4.17 lakh respectively.
Regarding another question, Local Bodies Minister Manoranjan Kalia informed the House that there had been 836 fire incidents in Ludhiana city alone in the last one and a half year.
