Monsoon likely to break over MP on June 23
Bhopal, June 21 (UNI) The Southwest Monsoon is likely to enter Madhya Pradesh from the state's south on June 23.
Several monsoonal systems formed over the past week but weakened later.
''An extreme low pressure area has been created over the Bay of Bengal,'' Regional Meteorological Centre Director D P Dubey told UNI.
Isolated overnight rain was recorded in Ujjain, Rewa, Sagar, Bhopal and Indore divisions. Datia district headquarters and Sheopur Kalan were the state's hottest at 40 C.
Precipitation figures for about the past fortnight were Datia district 9.28 cm, Rewa 8.14, Bhopal city 6.5, Jabalpur 6.07, Indore 6.33, Sagar 4.62, Satna 4.36, Chhindwara 3.66, Katni 2.62, Mandla 2.54, Seoni 2.08, Damoh 2, Umaria 0.86 and Tikamgarh 0.27 cm.
