Inter-state vehicle lifter gang busted

Itanagar, June 21 (UNI) The Arunachal Pradesh police have busted a gang of vehicle lifters and recovered seven stolen vehicles from their possession yesterday, police.

Chuku Appa, Superintendent of police(SP),Papum Pare district informed that three members of the gang were arrested including a notorious burglar and vehicle lifter, Dada who was charge sheeted in a number of crimes such as kidnapping, robbery, theft and attempt to murder.

The gang was active in many areas includes East Kameng, West Kameng, Papum Pare districts in Arunachal besides several districts in neighbouring Asom, the SP added.

The gang used to make fake vehicle documents and transport the vehicles to Nagaland and Manipur,SP added.

Mr Appa told that earlier, Dada was arrested in several occasions for stealing motorcycles but released on bail and now he had switched over to lifting four wheelers.
