Immense scope for Indo-Canada cooperation in Agriculture: Bhuria
New Delhi, June 21 (UNI) Mr Kanti Lal Bhuria, Minister of State for Agriculture, has held discussions with the Canadian Agriculture Minister at Montreal to explore possibilities of strengthening cooperation in the field of agriculture.
After discussions last evening, the Minister said both sides realise there are immense possibilities for Indo-Canada cooperation in areas of trade and exchange of technologies.
Mr Bhuria also addressed the International Economic Forum meeting being held at Montreal.
Speaking on 'Innovation and Economic Development,' the Minister said, ''this issue is high on the agenda of the Indian Government''.
In view of the limited scope for expansion of area under agriculture, any development in agriculture would have to be guided by innovation and relevant research, Mr Bhuria added.
