HP to cover 500 cities by 2007-end

New Delhi, June 21 (UNI) Hewlett-Packard (HP) India, one of the country's leading PC brand, will expand its retail footprint across 500 cities and grow the lifestyle computing market by around 50 per cent by the end of this fiscal.

The company also aims to increase its retail network to over 2,000 within this fiscal.

''At present, we have a presence in 400 cities and 1,500 retail partner network in the country. We plan to expand this to 500 cities and 2,000 retail networks by year-end,'' HP India Director (Consumer Products) Rajiev Grover told reporters here today at a product launch.

He did not disclose any investment plan for the expansion.

''Investment is a continuous process and we never set an amount for any expansion,'' he said.

He also said HP will be more focussed in the market for the handheld sets in the next 12-18 months.
