Ahmedabad, June 21 (UNI) Singapore-based non-profit foundation, Global Indian Foundation (GIF), today announced it will collaborate with the Gujarat government to open tribal schools in the state.

The first such residential tribal school will run in tribal-dominated Panchmahal by the management of the elite Navrachna International School in Vadodara.

''Not only quality education, but affordable education with global standards is important,'' says Justice C S Dharmadhikari, who is also the Vice President and trustee of GIF.

''We wanted to bring international education to India, maintaining the affordability. We want students of Gandhidham to get world class education with holistic development and Indian values,'' he further said.

Talking to reporters here today, Justice Dharmadhikari said, ''Equality without equal opportunities is not possible so we have decided to set up an international standard education school in Panchmahal.'' GIF Chairman Atul Temumikar said, ''I am a non-resident Indian and this is my chance to do something for the Indian community.

It will be a challenge as we will have to change our curriculum to meet this school's needs.'' The Gujarat Government also plans to sign an agreement with GIF to run a second such school in Tilakwada.

GIF has planned holistic programs for children which would balance academics and all round development. It would also be encouraging student exchange programs so that students an insight on how the school function. In fact, some of the chosen students will also get to travel to Singapore and other campuses of GIF schools.
